SureStay Hotel by Best Western Higginsville

Property is kinda outdated. Booked a suite upon arrival was downgraded due to our dog. So 4 kids 2 adults and 1 dog in a small room with double beds. Beds were uncomfortable, rooms smelled of strong cleaning air freshener.

Just an overnight stop in route to visit family. Well lit parking area across from hotel’s entrance. Easy access off interstate. Hotel right beside a large Casey’s gas station. Check-in was fast and easy. Room was clean and updated with desk, rolling chair, large TV (we did not use), sitting chair, and nice table when we walked in that was great to have my luggage open and not on floor. Slight cleaning smell but no smell of smoke or pets. A/C unit quickly cooled the room and provided enough white noise that we had no other sounds disturbing us. Queen beds were comfortable and had 4 pillows each but we travel with our own pillows so unsure of their comfort. Room had a cold dorm size fridge, microwave, and mini coffee maker. Bathroom was clean and had nice fluffy towels. Shower head and water pressure were great. Free breakfast had a good selection…scrambled eggs, sausage patty’s, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal packets, bread, bagels, apples, muffins, waffle maker, yogurt, 2 kinds of cereal, whole milk, juice, and coffee. Staff friendly! Hotel is older and kind of looks like a old 1 story motel with inside room access but they have done a nice job updating and the most important thing was that it was very clean and we got a good nights sleep. Would stay here again!

We arrived shortly before midnight. The desk clerk said they were having trouble with our room door? He went back and forth probably 20 times before someone else came to say they couldn't get the room keys working. Waited for almost an hour They said the Super 8 had a room for us across the way. But they really didn't have enough room for our size family, they also had room key issues, and it was really dirty, pet hair lining the steps and no elevator. So we ended up declining that option and driving further on and sleeping in the car at a truck parking rest stop. :-| It kind of ruined the rest of the trip home. We were so tired. Wouldn't recommend this place. They seem like an unprepared company/place to stay.

Honestly this is the absolute best hotel for people to stay with kids. Every single employee I came across was phenomenal in helping as I traveled with three small kids. The check in employee helped get us to the room, the morning employee helped with getting my kids breakfast (which was delicious), and the cleaning crew helped get us to the car. I’m not sure I’ve had better service on my numerous trips across country. I am so happy to have found the perfect hotel to stay at as we travel every summer now!

The room was great size for our family of five! The hot/cold breakfast was prefect for a quick grab and go.

Decent place to stay with a very large double queen room big enough for a family. Quiet at night. Very helpful staff who handled a late night check in with no complaints. Not entirely updated or spotlessly clean, but comfortable. Pet-friendly but it didn't smell like animals. Lack-luster breakfast, but the coffee machine was good. Easy access to fuel station for a quick take off in the morning.
