Hyatt House Rochester/Mayo Clinic Area

Poor communication regarding availability of breakfast service and housekeeping only done every four days. We were there over the holiday weekend and the breakfast was closed at 9 am on Monday morning. Too early for a family with teens!! This was not communicated upon check in.

There was no soap in our bathroom to wash our hands or take a shower. I went to the desk (person was eating at the desk!!) and they wrote it down, they never brought us a little bar of soap!!! So annoying. You have to use a key card to move up or down in the elevator, that is super inconvenient. There was zero maid service so our room was not kept up. They had a baseball team staying there and those boys were super wild in the small pool area and screaming so loud we had to leave, my ears were bleeding. Bad acoustics, they needed to open a window. No staff to quiet them down. They ran out of coffee in the morning with the breakfast. No pancakes or waffles at the breakfast for kids. Kids need pancakes. For $225 a night, this was really disappointing.

Had a great stay. Loved the rooms and.the evening soup. Staff was very nice. Chlorine level.was high and my children had some skin irritation.

Everything was good except the crib we were told we would have for our baby. A pack and play was found after asking 3 times for it and it was old and not safe for a 4 month old infant. Went and purchased a bassinet for $143 at Walmart. Otherwise the trip was nice and that was frustrating.

This place and the people in it are extraordinary. We were SO fortunate to choose Hyatt House as our landing place for the week. Between the conveniences like the free parking and breakfast, the shuttle and the little extras that were offered in the evening, we found this to be the best choice we could have made. The rooms were immaculate, and they were extremely quiet, with the exception of a few nighttime trains, which we find comforting in our family. Temperature control was central, but very effective and efficient. The kitchen with dishwasher was a fabulous addition, and the TV's were great for casting apps. The best part of our stay though was undoubtedly the staff. We felt blessed beyond measure to be welcomed with gentle kindness and support during our long week of Mayo appointments. Will definitely choose this place time and again. THANK YOU.

The Staff was extremely accommodating. We had a fairly large group of family and friends. The hotel was spotless, and even though housekeeping didn’t come in due to COVID, if we needed towels or garbage bags they were available. The free breakfast had a good assortment, and I was able to bring some items to my room for Sunday morning since I wouldn’t be there for breakfast due to a race. In the afternoon we used the clean tables and had a pizza party in the lobby. Though we cleaned up after ourselves we did ask the front desk for a wash rag so we could wipe down the tables. We wanted to leave it as we got it. They said it wasn’t necessary as they would take care of it, but they were so nice to us, we cleaned up. I definitely would stay here again. The convenience to the downtown area and fabulous Victoria’s Restaurant was a big plus!

This hotel was perfect for our night's stay. The hotel was quiet and the breakfast was perfect for my family.
