SureStay Hotel by Best Western Presque Isle

Needed a last minute place to stay for my father’s funeral. The hotel is very dated and not clean. The front office staff wasn’t the friendliest and felt like it was more their entire family’s home versus an actual hotel. To point, one of the nights there were gentlemen cooking curry in one of the rooms across from me….and there was no kitchen. Pass on this place and pay the extra for the Hampton Inn on the other side of town….you’ll thank me later.

Rooms were well kept however the bathroom was extremely tiny. Couldn’t turn without hitting a wall in any direction. Was very difficult to even attempt getting dressed modestly. The worst part was the Air conditioner, never functioned properly making the room stale and warm. Had to leave early due to a family emergency so we lost a day.

Everything was great except we didn't feel welcomed in. The hostess didn't seem to speak much English or know social expectations for this area. Any time we talked to her it was very short conversations. People from this area are overly friendly and like to talk and be personable to each guest with big smiles. I feel like there was a cultural block. That's my only piece of criticism. Everything was perfect especially breakfast!!! Will for sure be staying again soon. I found it to be super that we seen children quietly playing in the hallway. There's a lot of kids nowadays that are causing issues/trouble but not these kids! Need more kids like that with manners! Loved our stay for sure!

Consumer beware! Not as advertised. Definitely not a family friendly environment. This hotel is filthy and has a horrible stench. Probably never cleaned. Water stained ceilings, clogged tub, cobwebs on walls, dirty floors. There was also heavy drug usage both inside and on the hotel grounds. Had there been another hotel with availability we would have checked out sooner. We changed rooms 3 times in 3 days. No room was any better. We bought cleaning products and ended up cleaning ourselves. Hotels.com requested a refund and hotel management didn’t agree.
