Hotel de la Monnaie

Amazing location, it manages to be on a relatively quiet and calm street even thought it’s around the corner from Frenchman Street and the French Market. It also has a nice family-owned vibe from the staff. Limited free parking, and it’s right by a paid lot if they run out. Beds were on the small side but given the price, location and amenities I think we got a great deal. For families w little kids: it’s a great deal if you want a separate room for your kids to sleep so you can have a little time alone after they go to bed. It’s also about 3 blocks from Washington Square park which I took my 5 and 2 yr old to every day. Also, there are many shared outdoor tables on the patio - given that my 2 yr old makes a mess every meal, it was nice not to have food on our room’s floor when we got takeout from the French Market. One note - the hotel didn’t have a crib, so I rented one from Baby’s away. Even with that cost this was less than other 2 bedroom options in downtown NOLA.
