Rough River Dam State Resort Park

I have never stayed before, but had a pleasant experience. Check-in was very easy and the staff was friendly. The kids were really excited to go down to the beach, which was closed so we had to find a different one which wasn’t nearly as nice. But that’s not the lodge’s fault. Our key didn’t work when we got back to the room late at night, but was a simple fix to go have it reactivated ( I took great pains to keep it separate from keys and phone like they suggested at check-in). Breakfast was great, although they didn’t have any fruit options or pancakes/waffles. They did have French toast sticks, but my kiddos were picky. The stairs were out of order as they needed to be repaired in one area, so that made parking a bit tricky, but we just moved the car and used the hill instead, not too bad. I was expecting a minifridge in the room, I did not check b4 hand so that’s on me, I would just think it would be there since so many places have them these days. Overall we would stay again!

I like the area by the lake. It was beautiful. It was peaceful. I am glad they had internet connection. The dining area was opened during the weekend. My family was not really happy with the breakfast food, for the price. They said the food was bland. The staff was friendly and courteous. Overall, I really enjoyed the resort.

It was a great time at the Rough River Dam State Resort Park! We had a party of 7 families (3 were in the hotel, and 3 were in cabins). Very friendly staff, super clean and nice area, great marina with easy to rent pontoons. Beautiful nature and trail alone the lake. Only a couple comments for improvement: would be nice to have more equipment in cabins kitchen, and would be great to have the microwaves in hotel rooms.
