Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Independence

Staff is always kind and prompt. I’m a nursing Mama, so they stored my baby’s milk after checking out until I left for the airport. I wish they had a gym or a pool!

I don’t normally leave reviews and especially not bad ones but I feel like the good reviews are misleading. I’m a very understandable and reasonable person when it comes to budget hotel expectations. This place is pretty grungy. The reviews seemed good so I thought it would be alright. We booked for 2 nights and only stayed one because it was gross and uncomfortable. Everything is super worn down and it seems like nothing has been updated since the hotel was built. We had a suite with a pull out sofa we needed to use for our kids. I felt bad making them sleep on it because it was not only gross looking with stains but it was also falling apart and looked horribly uncomfortable. To top it all off when we pulled out the sofa there were multiple different used toothpicks and other trash under the couch. I understand that area doesn’t get seen often but I feel like it should have been cleaned at some point. The whole room made me feel crawly and I’ve stayed in some not great hotels before. The staff were friendly enough and the waffle maker and pancake maker at breakfast made the kids happy.
