Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sheldon, an IHG Hotel

Close to family.

Nice rooms but in the middle of updating after 10 years. Not all rooms are done. Nice pool area, hot tub was warm not hot. Even though there is a kids area the hours kids can be in the pool is limited to only a few mid evening hours. Worst pool hrs I have ever seen. Breakfast was ok. Eggs, sausage, oatmeal, bagels, breads,cereals, yogurt, muffins and pancakes. Most of the staff was ok but the front desk staff was awful!!! Took us 15 minutes to find someone to check us in and when we finally found her (in the employees only area she made us wait another 20 minutes before coming up to the desk. She was rude and short. There is still a hold on my card for incidentals and we checked out 2 days ago. Next time we will stay in Sioux City. Its only 30 minutes away and has shopping and food options.

We were in town for a family reunion. We had lots of kids with us, and once again the pool was out of order. We then had to go to the local pool and pay for everyone to swim for an hour or two, yet the hotel did not offer to discount the room at all. The ice machine was also broken so we had to go to the store to buy ice as well.
