Hampton Inn Terre Haute

In town to visit family first time. We stayed at this location. It was very nice and acceptable. We would stay there again..

The hotel itself was fine. We had an issue with the type of room. I booked and paid for a King suite. Upon check in I was told that we had a double bed reserved and no Kings were available. Employee blamed Hotels.com. Sleep was not comfortable with two adults and a toddler in a double bed.

The staff was friendly and the room was clean but we booked this hotel because we have kids and they have a pool. It was not working and that was the whole reason we booked it. Very disappointing.

Considered leaving a day early to go home. Staff told me I'd have to cancel through Hotels.com. So I called, and after hearing rules, decided not to cancel, in case we changed our minds. Went to family funeral. Exhausted, decided to stay, but when contacted hotel, they HAD canceled my reservation for the handicapped room, and were FULL (had sold my room to someone else). They could not refund my money (Hotels.com rule) but did not have a room for my family. Well into evening, we decided to drive home, since they could not come up with a room. They were waiting for someone else to cancel...... that never happened. I was furious, not so much about the money, but that they could get away with hurting my family like this, at a difficult time, - the funeral of my cousin.
