Fairfield Inn & Suites Lafayette

The clientele did not make our family feel safe. There was a lady in lobby asking for money…. There were also a couple who seemed to be high or struggling with sobriety.

There were stains all over the sheets and pillow cases… we had to go through all of them to find ones decent enough for us and my kids. It was gross. We stayed because of the rate I saw others give and the fact it was a Fairfield…. Not up to Fairfield par if you ask me.

When we arrived for check in they only had one room for us, despite having booked two rooms. The clerk insisted it was expedias error and said “That’s their problem not ours.” They proceeded to create a new reservation for a second room. The entire time the clerk was mumbling to himself, “I’m pretty sure that one’s clean. I think it’s clean. It’s probably clean.” It wasn’t clean. There was hair and makeup in the bed linens. The bathroom was disgusting. There was urine on and around the toilet, mold and mildew in the shower. The last persons bar soap still in the shower, covered in hair. I had to skim chunks of green slime out of the pool because my kids were determined to swim and we wanted to make the best of it. The attendant at breakfast was sprawled in the lobby on her phone. The selection was slim. There literally wasn’t even bread for toast. Every single tray was filthy and sticky with visible food on it. The attendant laughed when I pointed it out and said they must have been put in the wrong pile. She took them to the back and returned to her seat to watch her phone. The trays were never cleaned and returned. They got a food shipment and stacked in on the first floor hallway as I was returning from breakfast after 7 am. It was still there when I was checking out at 11. These items included perishables. My 11 year old son tripped on one of the boxes and fell, hurting himself. Per expedia they listed out second room as a no show.

The room decor was nice. The bathroom was not the cleanest and is ready for an update. The public areas are small. Breakfast was good. The front desk claimed our reservation didn't state 2 adults and 3 children (which was clearly indicated along with the children's ages, on our confirmation) so they wouldn't provide a rollaway, making the night cramped and uncomfortable. I can think of other comparable chains that are more accomodating. The hotel is located near many restaurants and shopping but so are many others.
