Riverview Inn & Suites, Ascend Hotel Collection

It was amazing, the staff are so friendly! It was a wonderful stay, I booked last minute about 30minutes before I got there but this will be my go-to hotel when I come back to visit my family! Thank you.

Hotel was built in 90's and it has an antique look. Antiques was bought from Sultan of Morocco. You can see few antique furniture's in and around the property. Staff's were really nice and the hotel is pet friendly. The property has a well-lit parking lot. There are few family-owned restaurants at a walkable distance (Italian, Mexican). Loves Park is across the river if you want to take your pet for a walk or relax. It is very quiet and away from all the traffic. If you do not mind antique look then you will enjoy the stay. The rooms are update to latest specifications and good breakfast. We spend couple of days and we loved it.

We had a phenomenal stay here. The room was really cool with the loft and having 2 bathrooms with 4 of us was a lifesaver. It was very affordable. Staff were always there to help us with any concerns or questions. I really want to give a shoutout to the manager 3/28/24. Myself and my 2 children were checking out and starting our 5.5 hour journey home, and our car battery was dead. He went above and beyond trying to help us. I was in a panicked situation and he tried everything to make me feel better! I wish I caught his name. We made it home safely long after we planned on it. Also the ladies in the breakfast area were amazing and so nice. Complements to the chef on those biscuits and gravy! They were the best I’ve ever had.

A quaint, older hotel with a great view of the water. My room was good. I can tell they are updating. I have two complaints, one on the food bar, they are not throwing out old fruit. The bananas this weekend should have never made it to Saturday. They were brown, then to see them on Sunday's bar was very disappointing. The other complaint is not fixable on the hotel's end. The guests had unruly kids and some of my neighbors were talking very loud.

The best thing about this hotel, other than the location on the Rock River, is the staff. So friendly and helpful. The full free breakfast was very good. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. I would stay there again on our next family visit.

Whole building smelled of garlic and burning hair. Shirtless guy was walking an agitated pitbull through the parking lot next to kids playing on the asphalt. Furniture was all beat up, walls had a bunch of hand plastered patches, beds felt like a ziploc bag full of hay. Do not book. And shame on Expedia for helping this property represent that it is clean and pleasant.

Staff was great. Our room was not ready for several hours after check-in time, so that was hard on our family. The staff was friendly and worked hard for us which we appreciated. The hotel is beautiful and breakfast was excellent!

When I booked this hotel I did not realize the date had gone to a default and I booked it for the very day I made the booking not the day I was traveling. Immediatealy after making the booking I realized this error had been made. I reached out to Expedia and was told with this particularhotel Expedia 's hands were tied, that I had to reach out to the hotel and explain how the computer had gone to a default and I wasnot needing a room right now but rather in two weeks when I was going to travel.I called the hotel and they were unwilling to help and reverse the charge.Later, when the actual stay happened. I arrived late and had to get up very early the next day to leave with my kids. We all simply wanted to rest for the 6 hours we were going to have because they had sporting event and needed rest. Checking in took over 40 minutes while the kids waited in the car. For quite a bit of the check in I was worried that we were not going to get our room at all, but in the end it worked. out. I was scared what we would do if that happened, luckily it did not but this lenghty checki in cut into the few hours of sleep we were going to get drastically. The hotel had a beautiful view of the river. The rooms were clean and quiet.

Loved the elegant look of this hotel with the elaborate woodwork, balcony overlook, beautiful full window view from the breakfast area. Not your typical cookie cutter hotel chain which gets a bit tiring. Caring, responsive staff were absolutely fabulous which is very important to me. Although there were not a ton of breakfast options, the microwave burritos and pancakes were a tasty change as well. Spacious, very clean walk in shower with nice full shower head in our accommodation room was perfect for my elderly mother. On the downside, the TV reception did not work well on the overcast day we stayed; not sure if that was just the weather. Although the surrounding area overall seemed a bit rundown (hotel is basically in a shabby strip mall parking lot), being right on the river on the other side more than made up for this, allowing us to stroll down by to water, watch the kids play in the park and chat with boaters (all the locals were especially friendly). Staff also suggested a more scenic, secluded trail in walking distance across the street from the hotel but we didn't have time for that one. We would definitely stay here again.

The room was fine but the walls are thin (just hope there isn’t an unhappy baby in a room close by). The “free breakfast “ was frozen waffles or frozen burritos, yogurt, bagels, cereal and juice. 1 serving per person so not only is it lacking make sure you’re not hungry. The coffee smelled as bad as it tasted. The front desk was friendly and the bed was comfortable. The view of the river was probably beautiful at one time but it is very overgrown and it’s difficult to even see the river.
