Comfort Inn & Suites Calhoun South

We booked a room with a King and a pull out sofa bed and when we pulled the bed out there was 4 fresh blood stains on the mattress. We requested a different room as it was midnight and we moved into two queens. It wasn’t helpful for our families needs but we made it work. The beds were clean but it set an off tone for the night.

We just pulled in for an over night stay but it was comfortable, clean and had a good breakfast. The pool was a plus for the kids as well. Great location right off the highway but still quiet. We will be back on our next trip south!

Room was big and had separate spaces which really helped since we had 4 kids with us.

This hotel was just ok. The pool is very small and feels like a sauna. The room was a good size for our family, but the toilet paper holder was broken and when we checked in, there were 4 stink bugs crawling on the wall of our room. The bed hurt my husbands back. There was a big wooden board covering the bottom half of one of the doors leading to the parking lot. The kids loved the breakfast and the coffee was good.

Checked in and found that the pool was closed; I booked this room as part of a family trip; the pool being closed was disappointing. The hotel smells musty and the room condition is average at best. We actually thought about leaving and staying somewhere else.

We booked a room that wasn't available. They blamed Expedia. Expedia blamed them. It was non-refundable so we couldn't go elsewhere. Three people had to sleep in a king bed. My child broke a glass bottle. I asked for help cleaning it up or a broom. The front desk person said they were the only one there and couldn't leave the desk. I had to throw towels on broken glass to prevent injury.

Let me sum up the experience of this hotel. They tried to renovate and obviously ran out of money and hired folks that didn’t do quality work…. Bathroom vanity top was not attached to vanity, ceiling of bathroom was COVERED in mildew from the bathroom fan not working, thermostat DID NOT WORK! If it wasn’t for me having 2 small children and arriving very late at night I would have gotten my money back for this what should have been $69 room and slept in my car. Overpriced and does not feel like a $150 room should MAKE you feel. DO NOT STAY HERE

Stayed here as a halfway point between Florida and Michigan, so it was mostly meant to be a place to sleep in between long drives. We had 4 kids with us. The suites provided ample room for the kids, and they enjoyed the hot breakfast, especially the waffles. They complained the pool was too cold, though it seemed fine to the adults. The rooms and linens were very clean, but the overall condition of the property is a bit worn down (stained carpet, a little mildew and loose fixtures in bathrooms.) Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Not fancy, but that works fine for families with kids who are a little noisy and messy and just want somewhere comfortable to sleep for the night.

Couldn't call front desk as phone cord was cut. Had to use my cell phone. TV Couldn't be programmed. No fan in bathroom. Water pressure in shower is way to extreme! Noisy young family in our wing. Had to ask front desk to quiet them down after 10 pm. Families should have a separate win in hotel.
