this just might be the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in – and we’ve stayed in a lot of hotels. This is our second time coming here and we absolutely loved every single thing about it. Excellent for families or couples looking for getaway.

The property was far enough off of the main village streets that it was quiet inside, but easily walkable to everything with our toddler. Plus the shuttle stop was steps away. The hotel was quaint and very nice - large closet, bathroom and fireplace in our Jr suite! Staff was extremely helpful and the breakfast buffet is a must! My one tiny complaint was the mattress and pillows were pretty uncomfortable, but maybe a personal preference.

I stayed with a friend for a weekend away from our young kids, hoping to get great sleep and come home relaxed and recharged. Unfortunately, the beds and pillows at this hotel are atrocious. I’ve had better nights sleep tent camping. Additionally twice when we came back to our room, housekeeping had left the door cracked open! After the first time we were super cautious to make sure it was fully closed when we left and it happened again. The hotel staff were very nice and quick to respond when we had minor issues with our fridge and fireplace. Our spa services were overall good, but the spa itself left something to be desired. The furniture wasn’t comfortable and it just didn’t have a relaxing spa vibe. It didn’t help that it’s attached to the indoor pool area so there were some kids in there. The hotel itself was cute and we loved the European vibe, but neither of us will be coming back and will not be recommending it.

This hotel is beautiful and the service is above and beyond! The room choices are amazing and we had the opportunity to stay in different rooms on different nights of our stay, all of which were some of the largest and most beautifully decorated rooms I’ve stayed in anywhere in the world. Staying at Sonnenalp is truly similar to staying at the best five star hotels in Europe. From the delicious breakfast, to the fitness center and spa, you can tell every detail has been planned and executed thoughtfully and meticulously. I can’t say enough about the staffs professionalism from the valets, to the front desk staff and to the servers in the restaurants, everything and everyone was top notch. A special thank you to Michael at Valet and Jerry at the front desk. It’s clear that Sonnenalp is family owned and operated, because you can tell the management is hands on and truly cares about making your stay in Vail a special time to remember. The whole experience was exceptional and we obviously give this resort our highest recommendation!

Love the mudslides, pool amazing, brunch buffet incredible and you can walk town and hike the mountain from right there! Best family weekend getaway! One of our favorite traditions for my husbands birthday. Thank you!

We stayed for couple of days at the Juniper Suit. The room was very clean and well equipped except mattresses and pillows could be upgraded. Not comfortable. The stuff was friendly. Went to the farmers market. Did some hiking around town. Great place for family vacation!
