It was very clean and well-maintained. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I really appreciated that it had a family room with fridge and microwave.

Enjoyed reading and hearing about the history behind this family owned inn. While the upcoming renovations will improve the guest experience, the authenticity and love of the original structure makes it a special place. Basic guest rooms are comfortable and adequate. No frills. Nice views from top floor.

We were a party of 3--2 grandparents & a "child" aged 14, who is 6'2" (you DID ask the age), and were assured that our room "sleeps 3" but it did NOT. We had to change to an adjacent room & have a foldaway bed delivered...but if that had not been available, we'd be up the proverbial creek!

Together, my wife and children had a very nice stay, it was cold but the heating is good, the shower water is excellent. It has a very nice stove, with logs that are very easy and quick to light. Correct breakfast. Close to the main avenue. You rest very well, you enjoy the silence and its surroundings. Recommendable.

Well…I was in room 5 (pet friendly) and had 2 children directly above me. It felt like the ceiling was coming down on me. It was as if they were beating on the floor. I am not exaggerating and I was on a appt. call and had to step out of room to hear. It’s an older property so it’s expected to have gaps under entry doors, older furniture etc. no coffee until 8am which is late for most ppl. The continental breakfast was the usual wrapped danish in Saran wrap, yogurt. Parking was good and close to beach and shops. For the price, it was decent. Staff was very friendly. When remote for TV didn’t work, staff walked over to room to fix it. I will request not to be on bottom floor if I return.

Hofsas House was a lovely, charming place with easy access to everything in Carmel. It felt like we were back in Germany! Our family suite was very comfortable and clean. Nothing fancy, but very nice. Wish we could have stayed longer!
