The Kelly Birmingham, Tapestry Collection By Hilton

First, I have wanted to stay at this hotel since I began researching locations in Birmingham a year ago. I have read many reviews on hotels.com and Google, and I am happy to add my review to all the others. It was such a nice hotel, and All of the staff that I interacted with were very kind and gracious towards me and my children. The PMC valet guys were really nice, knowledgeable, and careful with our things and our vehicle. Again and again. Next time though, it will be a girls trip and I'm so excited about that.

Pleasant and helpful staff and pretty rooms and lobby. I did not pay attention to valet only parking. Valet was pleasant and efficient but expensive. Good location to entertainment district (30 minute walk, 4 minute drive). Bedding and towels clean but seemed a little dingy. You have to be comfortable with a little steet noise to stay here. Business friendly not really family friendly.

Aesthetically the hotel was very pretty and modern. The staff was unhelpful when asking about possible early check-in. Upon arrival at check in at 4pm after spelling out my name and giving my drivers license I was checked into someone else's room with a similar last name. The only reason I noticed is once i got all the way upstairs the room was the basic and not the suite I reserved. Once back in the lobby I had to charge my card again for the incidentals and they had to reverse the other charge. Once we got checked into the correct room the curtains were falling off the rods making it impossible to close them all the way so maintenence had to be called. We only had one body towel. The suite had no refrigerator and the only ice is on the bottom floor. Its very hard to believe that this hotel meets the standards of a Hilton. The only option is to valet they have no parking. The valet is done through a third party. The biggest complaint is that even on the 5th floor the amount of noise that came from the street was insane. Not that its the hotels fault, but there were cars racing and revving thier engines until 3am. It echoed in our room and we hardly got any sleep. The hotel should replace the windows or offer a sleep sound machine in every room. Our family stayed in a hotel just one block over and had no issue. Just go ahead an book somewhere else!
