Loch Leven Hotel & Distillery

Had one of the best nights of my life here. They have a tiny bar and we managed to squeeze in. The staff was great and the atmosphere was incredible. We met locals, fellow travelers and even a cat and two dogs. It was like a family reunion you did not know you were going to. Plus their gin was great. I am dying to stay here again.

This place is perfect if you want a quiet/peaceful place. The staff is very friendly and informative (family run business). The food was also excellent and features a nice little bar in the back along with a tiny Gin distillery (you can tour as well). Definitely a 5 star experience.

This is the worse choice to stay in this area. The property is the most rundown guest house in the same area, and I was assigned to a tiny small room with a cracking floor while stepping around in the room, a tiny window opened on a rooftop which showed this is not exactly like a cell room….as I was kidding my partner. We just can’t sleep in this room overnight, the bed is too small, and uncomfortable.So we called another guest house to close by, with an even lower rate, we booked a room with a balcony overlooking the beautiful loch, a king-size bed and a spacious bathroom to enjoy. I talked to the property that I had to move to another hotel to stay because this one is not acceptable for YS. The manager showed indifference to what I said, and just replied to me that they won’t refund money for my booking, and even didn’t say anything to address my complaints about the room. This is my worse experience booking a hotel just by looking at the pictures on Expedia. I talked to my partner since now we have to be very careful to choose hotels in terms of the pictures presented.
