Really nice hotel, undergone a huge refurb. No outside noise despite being right beside the railway line. Lovely bar, great breakfast and very attentive staff. Only downside was noisy guests and kids running up and down the corridors and banging room doors at all hours

Beautiful upgraded hotel within easy walking distance of the shops. Complimentary snack plate was a bonus! Clean, comfortable and friendly. Fantastic choice at the breakfast buffet…with the all important choice of pancakes and Nutella for the kids.

Friendly staff and got into room early. Had young family staying in room next door and could hear their young baby which was reason why not marked as excellent as walls quite thin.

We requested a baby cot when we booked. Upon arrival we found it had no mattress and we’re informed it had been stolen. The porter offered towels and a sheet and we decided to try to make do. When we closed the curtains, we found there were holes in them. And when our baby still wasn’t asleep after midnight, I went downstairs to complain again. They offered to make up the sofa bed in the room. The night porter was himself aghast that there were still sheets on the sofa bed from its last occupant!!! Our baby finally fell asleep in my arms after three and still wouldn’t stay down herself. A ghastly experience at a run down hotel that isn’t cleaned properly. Don’t go there.

Disappointing at room size after paying for a family room. My dad had awful nights sleeping on a very uncomfortable sofa bed. Not happy Was told floors 3 to 11 been upgraded or modernised. They should not sell or charge guests for family rooms that are clearly not big enough for 3 people
