The Aberdeen Altens Hotel

Altens Hotel in Aberdeen is now our new Family Fav. Their breakfast buffet (additional cost) is one of the better ones. Staff are fairly young but still kind. They have a separate very small kids pool which was a plus for the little one. Pool room can feel very congested and loud when busy as to be expected. Some things in the room can be updated where you can obviously see wear and tear. If Altens would love to give me an awesome discount my family would be their weekly!

Great sized family room with clean and comfortable beds. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Breakfast area was spotless and plenty space between tables. Wasn't a lot of space to get food and drinks in the actual buffet area as it was busy, but it was the summer holidays when we went. My son enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the sauna and steam room were good too. Not a huge pool for getting a proper swim but my son enjoyed it. Easy car journey into Aberdeen to visit all the local sights. Would stay here again as it was great value for money and a good hotel.

Family of four stayed for a night. Amazing family friendly hotel. All staff were so friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast was delicious with so much on offer. The pool is a great addition. We will be back

The last time we stayed here a member of staff entred out room without warning, around 8am. We complained and they said it was because we did not have a do not disturb sign on our door. This time there were no do not disturb signs in our room or on any other doors. We called reception to ask for one which they said would be brought up. Eventually we went to reception as one did not arrive at our room. We received a do not disturb sign and kept it on our door the remainder of our stay. We went out in the evening and when we arrived back to our room someone had been in and opened a window making the room cold for our young child. Frustrating staff keep entering our room when they shouldn't.

Overall good. Clean. Booked it for the pool. Took kids down to the pool about 7 pm to be told it's full. Got in an hour later. Were then an hour later to dinner at 9pm to be told kids needed to be out restaurant by 10pm. Ended up taking half eaten dinner to room. Rest of stay quite nice.

First stay at Aberdeen Altens and will definitely be back. Staff were so accomodating when family joined us for drinks and located a bigger and better table for us. Room spotlessly clean and breakfast was excellent. There was something to suit everyone and their dietary requirements

I’ve stayed several times in this hotel as it’s near my family. Never have any complaints.

Comfortable and clean room. Lovely and quiet & adjustable heating control. We were staying for 2 nights visiting family, on the second night my 5 year old became unwell and the staff really were so kind. They really went out of the way. I offered to pay for bedding which they wouldn’t hear of

This was a comfortable room on the ground floor. Although the hotel was busy it was remarkably quiet at night. There is free parking. We used the gym which was a bonus. We didn’t use the pool as it was quite busy at the weekend. The restaurant was ok and the food we had was fine. Staff all helpful .As we were meeting family a more comfortable lounge area would have been useful as the bar was not suitable because they had lights out or something.
