Holiday Inn Express Aberdeen City Centre, an IHG Hotel

Overall a good stay with my two kids. Very friendly and helpful staff at check in, during stay and at breakfast. Good selection of breakfast items, kept us full all day. Chef helpful with my child’s allergy requirements. Couple of small issues that were remedied fairly quickly (i.e. sofa bed not made up on arrival and had to move room as toilet not working).

Can you believe this nonsense? I ask the reception if they have any rooms without pets because of my allergy, and instead of giving me a straight answer, she starts checking my booking and payment card. After she's done, she casually drops the bomb: "Sorry, no pet-free rooms available." Are you kidding me? I specifically mentioned my allergy, and they still went ahead and checked me in without even bothering to mention this crucial detail beforehand. If they had just been honest with me from the start, I would've canceled my booking and found another place to stay. But no, they had to go and pull this sneaky move, checking me in first and then hitting me with the truth. Unbelievable. And to top it off, when I ask about parking with my disability card, they have the nerve to say they're clueless! What a joke!

Parking was an issue for everyone staying Food was okay had issues with children handling food and also with staff handling it without gloves none of the hand sanitizers had anything in them out side areas left a bit to be desired lack of senior staff managers left a lot off extra work for certain front of house staff,housekeeping excellent staff general excellent and friendly had a lot to deal with complaints every day hate to think what overseas visitor thought im Scottish and was ashamed of the service they received food especially was absolutely unacceptable would definitely not recommend or return

Best location in Aberdeen quiet street close to main thoroughfare with family bakery across the street with numerous eateries bars within walking distance taxi stand in street also public transport around the corner in Union street
