Central location, spacious family room, really comfortable king bed, not so comfy sofa bed for the child. Disgustingly there was a horrible white stain on the cushion placed on the bed, reported to reception on going out for the day and was still there on my return. I won't be back.

The Sandman is a trendy and smart Hotel and offers a range of rooms to suit most travellers. This hotel is situated in the centre of Aberdeen within easy walking distance of the shopping centres, bars and restaurants . The down side of this is extremely limited parking, there are two car parks belonging to the hotel , the one onsite is small and has a very narrow entrance and exit. The second off site parking is smaller and a hundred yards away. Onnour visit both were full so we parked in the Bon Accord centre £12 for an overnight stay , and walked the short distance to the hotel . Parking is a major issue if you have a very young family or have a mobility difficulties. The staff are helpful on arrival and check in is quick. On this trip we booked a executive suite with a kitchen. Having stayed at similar hotels we were disappointed with the facilities, a few pans , knives, forks and spoons . There were wine glasses with no bottle opener for example. All in all the kitchen is spartan unlike those at the Residence Inn less than 300 yards away . The room in general appeared tired and well used , a door was missing from the wardrobe causing the interior lighting to remain on otherwise it was a good size and overlooked the carpark for the choosen few. A buffet breakfast is served in bar/restaurant with a reasonable range of options to suit Check out is quick and unremarkable. The hotel has character and huge potential but the overall experience was underwhelming. 5/10

Lovely hotel, directional signage to lobby could have been a bit clearer. Room was very clean and spacious. Plenty of seating in the lobby which was great as we were meeting up with a lot of family.

Absolutely loved this hotel .. the feel the comfort the cleanliness the beds the area! You’re £6-£7 for taxi to the cadonas and queens links shopping area should you want to leave the city centre and visit the seaside or funfair .. I travelled with two autistic children and the room was ultra quiet The restaurant was so delicious the rooms large the beds comfy and they bath ! Wow! A hotel worth every penny of the £267 I paid

Recently stayed for the first time for 2 nights. Beds were substantially smaller than the average double size bed which caused issues for 2 kids already not wanting to share. Also were very uncomfortable and with strangely small pillows. Room was very warm with no air conditioning so having to sleep with windows open so kept awake with noise and with sunrise at 5am it made for long days! Spoke to reception and was told it would be looked at but it never was. Rooms were dated with light fixings in the bathroom hanging out too. Tv didn’t work but not a big issue as we weren’t in the room during the day as much. Floor had crumbs shoved into a corner which must have been missed when cleaning before our stay.

Our stay was a little disturbed unfortunately. Extremely noisy people above us, it was distracting, and woke the baby up several times. The staff however are faultless, so helpful when we asked for a bigger room and a high chair. We also found the hot water for the bath was lacking too. But as always the bed was sooooo comfortable and we love they are super kings. Will certain continue to stay when we visit Aberdeen.

We got to our room and was utterly disgusted. There was a dirty towel on the floor, MEDICATION on the floor (loose tablets), the carpet didn't look to be vaccumed and the room was thick with dust! We went to the reception desk with the medication and was told the manager was on a call and the receptionist would leave a note for them to contact us. We didn't hear anything from anyone so when we went to check out we brought the issues up and was told 'it was a womans vitamin' which it was as we googled it but the other tablet was a sedative!! Regardless of what the medication was if a child had been in that room and taken that it could have ended badly! We were then told 'you should have called down about the mess of the room, we would have moved you' we actually went in person and weren't offered anything! I strongly suggest this hotel has a stern word with their cleaning staff. We definitely will not return to this hotel!!
