Great value for money. Good sized comfortable family room with good facilities for an over night stay. Plenty of space, large bathroom, only issue was the heater in the bathroom we couldn’t get to work so alittle cold.

We had an overnight stay in a family room. It was a great room, extremely comfortable and a large bed, and a proper bed for our son. The room was quiet and we were impressed by the quality for only £72. We had a good evening meal in the pub. Friendly staff. We visited York 30 min away.

We booked 2 double rooms for a long weekend, both rooms were spotless, very comfortable bed, so an excellent night sleep! The lock broke on one room on the last night so my family were moved to another room with no problem. Friendly, approachable staff, very attentive. We booked our evening meals at the bar, good choice on the menu. Extensive choice for breakfast too. Would definitely stay there again.

Booked at family room with 3 beds but only 2 were in the room, as it was only my 2 sons and i it was fine. Comfortable beds, clean and tidy but a bit basic, no luxuries or personal touches. Incredibly warm in the room, but they can't control the weather and a fan was provided. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast not quite as on the menu but delicious. All in all a lovely, enjoyable stay.

Fairly basic (but entirely functional and adequate) bathroom facilities, and a very comfortable king sized bed. Slept like a baby. Will almost definitely stay again next time I’m in the area.

We booked to stay 3 nights at The Owl for two adults and two children. After booking, we looked at the pictures and noticed there were only two beds in the room. Therefore, I emailed The Owl and asked if there was another bed and mentioned it was to sleep 4 people as per the booking. They replied a couple of days later saying that there was a pull out bed and confirmed it was for two adults and two children. On the day of arrival, we got to the room only to find the double and single bed. We immediately informed the bar staff and two young ladies came up and pulled out the extra bed and made it up for us. We began to check out the room and discovered dog muck all over roof outside our window. Some of which had been there for quite some time by the looks of it. The owners dog was running over the roof barking at people in the garden too. We next used the bathroom to find a dirty toilet that had obviously never seen a toilet brush in years. The sink was also dirty and marked around the plughole. On a night the room was far too hot, even with the window open and the radiator turned off. There was also bright light from the corridor shining through the huge gap under the door. The person in the room above us was extremely loud and would be banging about until 11pm at night and then waking us up at 6.30am. On leaving, we got asked to put the keys in a box and staff never asked if we enjoyed our stay or anything. The whole experience was far from relaxing and disappointing.
