The Tunbridge Wells Hotel

Hotel was ‘fine’ for one night. The customer service was patchy. While they were efficient, it came at the cost of being friendly or welcoming, which was severely lacking at the hotel. The staff did respond to asks for a charger and a food delivery but they seemed rushed and busy with trying to run the restaurant and then also manage guest services. The rooms were also patchy, they were clean however the fitted sheet on the bed was ripped, the bed was hard and lumpy and the bath/shower was not practical. The water temperature would fluctuate between cold and scolding hot when in use, and was actually unsafe for my child. The bathroom products were basic and cheap. Unfortunately the breakfast was also disappointing and served with chipped crockery. The food looked great however taste did not match up to it. The staff did refund two of the items, though ignored us and were dismissive after we mentioned the crockery being cracked and quality of the meal. It can be very noisy, with some of the rooms also face a very busy road which is constant all night with the window open and the walls are so thin that you can hear conversations word-for-word at midnight when other guests return to their room. We paid 180 for a double room with no breakfast included which I don’t think represented value for the area.
