Astley Bank Hotel

Room was clean but super small. Very noisy when they have guests for party or family events. Not worth the money.

Astley Bank has definitely seen better days. An impressive manor at one time, the poor thing is a bit rough around the edges nowadays. I commend the owners and staff for trying to stay on top of things, but these old properties are back breaking to maintain. I definitely applaud the effort and investment to keep it going. We booked two rooms over a weekend when the hotel was mostly booked for a wedding. Really appreciate the communication from the booking staff re. this and their offer to terminate the booking. We wound up keeping the booking and the staff really went out of their way to keep us unidisturbed by the festivities. Staff were fantastic overall. Rooms definitely did not look as prim and proper as the booking photos. Linens and towels had small stains here and there, decor was tired, and the floors were some of the noisiest, creakiest things I've ever walked across. The hotel was quite convenient for our needs and travels to visit family in Bolton. Pretty good Indian restaurants in Darwen if you enjoy such.

Beautiful setting..The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accomodating,the atmosphere was very chilled..There were kids running around all day and night and it was great as staff didnt bother about this,we had a lovely day and evening. The meal at the wedding was faultless the main meal was hot when you got it,the dessert was lovely everything was well presented.

Single night stay with evening meal and breakfast for family of three adults. Grand rooms, comfortable beds, deep baths, lovely food and friendly and professional service. Walk on the hills next morning straight from the hotel was great too.
