Applewood Hotel

FANTASTIC family stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. We were very happy guests.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Applewood. The lady on duty was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was lovely and the service was excellent. Our family room was very clean and nicely decorated. It was cosy but more than enough room for the 4 of us with everything we needed including the lovely toiletries. There were only a couple of things that would have made the stay absolutely perfect - There was no blind up at the bathroom window. It looks like it had previously been there as the track was there but there were no lats and the pillows were quite flat. That didn't take away from the lovely couple of days we had though, and if we are down in Bournemouth again, we would definitely book here again.

The staff was very responsive to send us late check-in info after auf train was delayed for several hours because of a storm so we could get into our room after the official end of check-in time. The room was cozy and the bunk bed nice for the kids - the towel warmer was a nice touch. The only issue was that the room was left unlocked after the cleaning people tidyed it - it does not feel good to return to an open door when all our stuff is in the room (and there is no safe). Otherwise great place with personal touches!

The hotel suited us as we were using it to explore Bournemouth and then to travel from to visit Poole after we checked out. Very close to town centre and beach. So plenty of choice for food and can go to the beach to explorer. Bunk beds were great for the children, free Wi-Fi, bed was confortable and the shower was powerful.

Hotel has a great location, and staff were very friendly. We appreciated the bunk beds for the kids! The continental breakfast was excellent, and a good value.

Lovely hotel, very clean and friendly staff. Location is great, short walk to the beach and town centre. Parking is free which is a bonus especially when travelling with small kids

Lovely room (we had a huge double plus very nice bunk bed for the kids). Very nicely decorated room. All extremely comfortable. Huge walk in shower.

The property was well maintained. We had a friendly welcome. The Hotel has free parking which was a bonus and the hotel allowed us to leave our car in tge car park as we arrived early so we could explore. Our room was a nice size however the top bunk was dusty but the room was certainly not dirty. The hotel has a small bar with limited opening hours closed at 9pmwhich was a little disappointing as we would have liked to use the bar upon returning from our meal. Lovely hotel, great decor throughout very clean. L Spacious family room with bunk beds. It has a big garden with trampoline anf footballs for children. It has free parking and the pier is a 10 15 minute walk away.

I booked this hotel because of it's very high rating: sadly, I don't think it was justified. I had a huge room on the ground floor: there was a massive double and a single bed. The "double" bed was a 6 footer, but the mattress was very lumpy and far too soft. I'd have been happy with a smaller bed and a comfortable mattress. The room looked as though it was recently refurbished and the bathroom was added: however, one had to shut the door to access the toilet: a folding door would have solved that problem. The shower had a very strong water pressure and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast has to be ordered the night before: it was remarkably good value. The coffee was excellent, although porridge was not! This is a family run establishment and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Location is near the beach and there are plenty of eateries in the vicinity.
