The Cooden Beach Hotel

Nice, if pricey, hotel. Well situated. Good for a short break. Room would have benefited from a small refrigerator. Food in restaurant somewhat overpriced but nice enough. As a vegetarian, you would run out of dinner options after 3 days. Staff very helpful and friendly. Families were staying here when we were but I'd say more of an adult venue. Not really anything for the children to do so suspect they'd be quickly bored. Definitely more than the advertised 40 minute walk to Bexhill!

We were booked in for 3 nights and given a SeaView room. which was very spacious.Unfortunately it was very warm so we needed to keep the windows open.The first night the sound of reving engines kept us awake. The second night a group of youngsters were talking until the early hours. We had a 5 hour drive home and after 2 nights without sleep decided to check out, I showed the receptionist a video I had made of the noise the youngsters were making but she said the police had picked them up as they were behaving badly and it was hotel policy not to refund any money but she could only take off the price of our meal the night before which was not even a fraction of the cost we had paid for the room. Such a shame..

The staff were all very polite and helpful and the food was excellent but due to renovations it was noisy at times. No lift meant difficult to get family member up and down from 1st floor.
