The Continent Hotel Bangkok by Compass Hospitality

I is definitely not a five star hotel. Hotel is average. I don't know how they can advertise this hotel as 5 star hotel. Location is close to the "grey" area. If you stay as family, this hotel is not really recommended for area, it is better to find hotel close by to Fashion Mall, Siam area, Chit Lom.

Convienently located hotel for local ammenaties. The rooms are a reasonable size with a wide window giving an excellent view. Breakfast offers a good buffet selection with eggs cooked to order. The sky bar offers an even better view. There is a pool, but its quiet small. Not for swimming in unless your a small child.

The main thing that worked for the Continent is its location (readily walkable to Asok BTS, Sukhumvit eateries, Terminal 21, Metro etc.). There is great coffee across the road from Artis coffee, and the Michelin starred The Local is abt a 10-15 min walk away. Staff were also always willing to help with room issues - we had problems with our TV, the room not being cleaned etc., and staff were always willing and quick to help. That said, some of the issues shouldn't have been there in the first place. One of the cleaners had inform us that the cleaning hrs were until 5pm (no idea why this was a valid reason since our room was vacant since we left in the morning). There were also a few issues with the access card. I could also hear what sounded like the motor/lift constantly through the walls of my room, the bar fridge (or TV or something else?:P) also kept making clicking noises one night. We were travelling as a family with old and young, so perhaps the above issues were more pronounced. I would think this would be a great hotel for biz travellers.

Gentlemen's hotel. Good looking hotel and rooms. Rooms are cozy and classy. The biggest complaint is that the hotel is noisy. You can easily hear the neighbors. Sobbing women, people making love, people talking in the hallway, traffic, various weird noises and sounds all day and night. There is no sound-proofing. What a shame on an otherwise beautiful hotel. I wouldn't stay again due to the noise and poor sleep resulting from it. It is a pretty good location. Close to the walk-way to the ASOKE BTS station and MRT. Caters to the seedy nightlife. Soi cowboy around the corner. Its fun to guess whos a working girl during breakfast. I saw families here with kids. IMO this is not a kid friendly hotel. Pool is just ok, nice views. breakfast is ok. Expedia Gold VIP didn't work, they didn't upgrade rooms only gave me a higher floor. Said no upgrades available but I saw rooms available to book. Shady. Whatever. Won't stay again.
