This hotel is not for decent family guests. The bed linen was torn and smelling of perspiration and was stained. Requested to be changed but was ignored. The shower door does not close flooding the entire wash room after a shower. No toiletry but there were packets of condoms which is not found in decent hotels. The condoms were in the itemised list so it is not by chance left behind by someone. Reported to concierge. Porter had a long face on delivery. The wash room was smelling of urine. Porter without cleaning spayed air freshener. No one to help us with the luggage or help with door while the porters were chatting away ignoring us. Requested for a change of room which was ignored. No manager available to speak to and resolve issues. Manager was hiding. Staff ignoring family guests chatting away and giggling. I found that all the praised reviews were false.

The first sentence in hotels.com says this is a luxury hotel. It is not. The hotel is midrange (and price accordingly) The hotel is well located a short walk to Nana BTS and restaurants/bars. However keep in mind that might not be the best area for a family vacation, particularly after dark. The dated room in the first floor was roomy but only had one window, so the desk on the corner was rather dark. Also a building facing the hotel made it not private. The bathroom could use an update and deep cleaning (mold in the shower) Cleaning was spotty. In my five night stay the room was never vacuumed, service seemed to be limited to changing towels and making the bed. Pool area is nice and the pool large enough for lap swimming. Fitness room rather small but the two times I was there nobody else was working out. Overall, I might stay again considering the good value and location, but it is misleading to categorize this property as luxury.

Good place to land for a few days. Big room with great views. Awesome breakfast and close to many restaurants the bts and 7-11/family mart. Room service fast and yummy! No issue from the food. The concierge is super great!!! Cons Lil moldy in the lobby

Generally, we had a great stay. The breakfast buffet has a good selection, the price was acceptable, the rooms are comfortable and decently-sized, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and the location is very central to a great street of markets and bars. I only have one critique, and I think that this isn't an issue particular to Solitaire, as it has been omnipresent in all the hotels I've ever stayed at in southern Asia. Another family member also stayed at the hotel at the same time as we did, and the following was true of both of our rooms: the smell of mildew in the rooms and hallways is intense. It's undeniable that there are definitely issues with mildew/mold. The carpets in the rooms need to be thoroughly cleaned, and dehumidifiers need to be installed to prevent buildup of mold/mildew.
