Hotel R14

Solid hotel very close to Kaohsiung Arena and the HSR Zhuoying stop and the ever so popular RuiFong night market (8 minutes walking). I booked a one night stay because I knew I was getting off the high speed rail in the afternoon and didn’t want to lug too many items across town. You literally get off of “R14” stop at the station (took me a while to realize lol)…get out of the subway exit and its less than 3 minutes walking distance away. Yes, super convenient. Check in was a breeze. Staff were friendly and used their kiosk. Quickly whisked ourselves into a room with two queen beds. No bed bugs. Room was clean with a fridge, chairs and ample space for luggages. Window overlooked the park directly outside. Breakfast was included the next morning from 7-10 am and was super decent. Vegetarian buffet style. Lots of eggs, congee supplies (pickled veggies, “meat” floss, salted egg, kimchee) and random veggies & fruits. Thought it was very decent and clean. Place is clean and great, but not quite at a 5 star hotel level. Still highly recommended—especially those with families.

Professional and courteous front desk staff were very helpful with our large family check-in requiring multiple rooms. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet has lots of options and the staff was fast and friendly with table clearing.

It was perfect for our family reunion, 3 rooms!! We spent time together at the breakfast for hours lol The shower was slightly challenging to use for the eldest of our group, and there were no mirrors in a well lit area to put on make up while seated. Other than, was wonderful!!!
