Our two families stayed here for three days. It was unusual to have two quite different hotels as one property--one very European, the other quite modern. Both were very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect. Restaurants were quite expensive, but maybe not unusual for Switzerland. I'd definitely stay there again.

This is a truely charming boutique hotel right at the edge of the old town district, within easy walking distance of all the old town has to offer and conveniently located right at a tram stop. I selected one of the art rooms for our brief 1 night stay. The room was massive and very comfortably appointed with a large en suite bath and very nice appointments (large tub, hair dryer, high end toiletries, Nespresso machine, free bottled water, etc). The highly rated restaurant is nothing short of amazing and we enjoyed a lovely lunch as well as a sumptious breakfast. We felt the Der Teufelhof was a very good value and will definately plan to stay here again on a future trip. Two issues of note when considering the hotel: There is not an elevator for SOME of the rooms. This was not an inconvenience for us as the desk staff hauled our luggage up when we arrived and down in the morning, but you may want to request elevator access if mobility is an issue. Second, the windows in our room opened over the street served by the tram. We thought this might be a problem but apparently the tram does not run very late as we never heard it durring the night. The bed was so comfortable we slept like babies!
