Scandic Crown

Great location, just a few minutes walk from the location. Great buffet breakfast and good bar area. Negative points - room was a little dated and very small (we had a family room and when bunk beds were unfolded) very limited space to move around. Overall would recommend. Was good value

Excellent hotel for families. The staff was really friendly. The play area was really popular among our kids. The lobby and restaurant/bar areas are really great as well. Two negatives: firstly, our room was pretty worn out and in need of a serious upgrade. Secondly, the bar ran out of beer from tap (all four variants!) on our first night - and it stayed like this throughout our three day stay. The longhaired male bartender was pretty arrogant and did not even apologize.

I have mixed feelings after my stay at Scandic Crown. Let’s start with the positives. The location is fantastic, right in the central downtown area and we walked almost everywhere. For the longer trips the central station was only a few minute walk. The breakfast buffet was very nice and the restaurant was also great for having dinner or drinks and we dined there a couple of times, really nice. Really cozy ambiance and very family friendly. The less nicer things about this hotel are the rooms. We stayed at a family room which is something we are quite used to doing. The kids got murphy bunk beds which was in itself not bad and saved space during the day, but the matresses were terrible, almost paperthin. That’s Ok for toddlers maybe, but not older kids. The master bed was also terrible, mattress way too soft and the undermatress had no cover and had become brown-ish over the years and seeing it was very off-putting. The housekeeping was also rather poor. When we got the room it was OK clean. We stayed there for a week and no one came to clean, so we booked a special cleaning session halfway through our stay. We packed up and put away all our stuff (so they would have easier access) and went out during, and when we came back they hadn’t cleaned at all! only a little bit in the bathroom and replaced the towels. We assumed this was just the extent of the service and were really disappointed, but later discovered that this was not normal! Overall an OK stay, might return. 3/5

We got in late and were really tired after travelling all day. Check-in was very quick and easy with easy going and very helpful reception staff. Parking was easy. Rooms were clean and tidy and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast and breakfast staff absolutely fantastic!!! It is nice to see so many youngsters working hard and taking pride in what they do. I will absolutely come back!!!

Perfect place for families, super close to the train station and everything Gothenburg has to offer. We walked everywhere! The staff was amazing! Always smiling and ready to help! We even got tickets to a soccer game at the stadium next door! Delicious breakfast!

Great family friendly hotel close to city centre. The room was nice and clean. Very good breakfast buffet. Staff was very kind and service minded. Special attention for kids with small gift upon arrival, drink voucher for the bar, movie with popcorn in the reception etc.

Small efficient rooms, great breakfast and facilities and location. Perfect for a family vacation. We could walk everywhere and never used any transportation.

The rooms were not cleaned properly. The childrens beds were not made and there were dirty cups from the night before left in the room!

It was a great stay. The children loved it. The wife was happy…

Very friendly staff. Easy walking distance from train station (we came there from Stockholm). Had a family room, with murphy style bunk beds. Perfect for our group of 3 adults & 1 teenager. Hotel breakfast was fabulous.
