Park Hyatt St. Kitts

I’m still shocked at how expensive everything was on resort. They charge 5 star major city centre prices (London, my, etc) for limited amenities and variety, while taking every opportunity to overcharge you for EVERYTHING. One Scoop of kids ice cream? $4 usd… cheapest bottle of (not great) wine? $80 usd… want to play basketball for more than 30 minutes? Oh yeah, you’ll pay for that too. I’m still trying to figure out what I paid for before arriving. Every day can easily cost you $750 usd. It was nice, but it’s still the Caribbean and this place has a mediocre beach with no amenities. I wish we would have had a better experience, but totally not worth it. Would not recommend.

fantastic resort, family & I had a great time

Decided to book this after seeing it on the Conde Nast Global Top 10 Hottest Openings - best decision we made! After weeks of island hopping, this was the icing on the cake! What a great Hotel! The room was spectacular - well appointed and lots of amenities. The views of Banana Bay and Nevis were insane. At least the WiFi was super fast so FaceTime/Whatsapp worked! Staff were very very well trained and attentive - they remembered us by name and even our preferences - how we like our tea at breakfast or our type of cocktail etc. Spending most of our time by the pool, it was helpful to have plenty of towels around and good quality complimentary sunscreen stations. They even have iced lemon water on tap to beat dehydration. Service was exceptionally prompt and food was tasty! The Rum Bar indeed has a great selection that can even be tasted - didn't manage to get through them all. Must visit is the Miraval Spa - spent a whole afternoon there in the plunge pools and steam/sauna but do book in advance. They do get quite busy. Treatments are sublime! It was also very helpful for them to have AVIS on site to sort out car rentals and drive around the island - it is impossible to get lost, and a much more fun way of discovering the sights. A very very helpful Concierge desk helped us plan our days effectively. The hotel is very child friendly though we didn't take the kids along this time, it is definitely a hotel we will come back to again and again for a family vacation

Hotel is beautiful but staff is not trained on customer service. Be prepared for the Hyatt to mark up prices on the vendors they use by 200%. If you go through the vendors directly you will a fair price. Also, the food at the resort is either really good or down right horrible. After being their 3 days and the Hyatt employees telling us there was no children’s menu, we found one buried in the plants outside. Lunch for 5 at the pool was at least $300 a day. To get into town it will run you either $60 or $80 round trip. I left wondering if the concierge was on the take with the taxi drivers she contacted. No one likes to feel taken advantage of, isn’t that why we stick with companies like the Hyatt.
