Hotel ILUNION Suites Madrid

We had booked a family room for 4. The room was not cozy at all (no nice interior, just white walls) and probably more appropriate if we would have been business travellers. Main problem with the room was that the bathroom had a funky smell that didn’t go away even when we had the ventilation/AC on. We complained at the front desk who informed that the cleaning staff would check it out however we did not notice any improvement. A little bit strange also in the breakfast restaurant when my wife who is Latin was asked at 2 separate occasions if she was staying at the hotel by staff even though we informed about our room number when we accessed the breakfast area. Not a big issue but we thought that it was somewhat strange. Nice staff in the reception. Next time in Madrid we will however stay in some other hotel.

Our family loved this property and its mission as it pertains the environment and people with disabilities. All staff members were professional and friendly; wonderful breakfast. Highly recommended.

The staff was exceptional whenever we had a request and very friendly. My problem is the lack of sound proofing between the rooms. The floors are vinyl and you can hear ever footstep or anytime something is dropped on the floor above your room. While in the bathroom there is vent and it’s possible to hear every conversation or noise from that room. We had a family with multiple children in the room next door who didn’t go to bed until after midnight, so I’m grateful we had earplugs. Also I was shocked there was only an electric kettle in the room, but no coffee pot. There was an espresso machine in the lobby where you could purchase a cup for 1.50 but after spending 4.50 and never having a decent cup of coffee we gave up.

We needed a place to stay for our family of 4. Bed and everything where already out and made for the boys and the place was very clean and spacious. Minimalistic but that doesn’t bother us one bit. People at reception were very kind and we will very happy overall

The hotel is a nice and clean hotel. The staff is friendly and the metro station is around the corner, which we really liked. What we did not like is that they turned off the airco. So it was very hot in our room and we could not sleep. Even when we fully opened the windows. When we went to the hotel frontdesk and told them our airco did not work, they told us they turned it off and will not turn it on, because it was not necessary. Also our kids were waking up itchy without any musquito bites.

The rooms are likely renovated. So you can smell the odor either from the painting or the furniture. But, the space is large. The sofa bed can be converted to a king size one. Good for a family trip
