Barceló Sants

Probably one of the coolest hotels I've ever stayed in. Absolutely beautiful, incredibly clean, and quite affordable. The 2x2 Family room is such a cool concept that most hotels don't have available. Great for large groups and families!

Very cool space theme. Kids loved it! Family room with adjoining room for kids was great, too. Front desk employees were very kind and helpful, and they had a delicious and amazingly huge breakfast offering!!!

The front reception staff are very racist and unwelcoming and as a black person staying there, I felt very uncomfortable. Multiple requests to fix aircon in 30 degree heat, front reception kept lying and saying they would send someone for a day and a half. Finally sent the repairman out, turns out the whole filter needed changing as no air coming through. £5 per day city tax charges not included in booking fee despite Expedia stating it was. Now staying in 5* hotel in Madrid and no city tax? I called Expedia and apparently they had charged me a deposit as a “guarantee” despite the room being paid for well in advance. No issue with handing over passports and credit card as that is standard for most hotels but when you’re standing next to two white couples who are not asked for their card it seems very racially charged. Breakfast buffet is underwhelming, lots of pork and no real meat alternatives. No suitable diary alternatives and for £25 a day for 1 child and adult you would think there would be more variety. However, breakfast staff are lovely and accommodating especially the older gentlemen with grey hair and the lady with the brown hair in a bun at the front desk. Cleaners are lovely also and very helpful. Location is convenient - everywhere we needed to see park / sagarada familia / beach etc within a 30 min commute. Bed is very comfortable as well as pillows, however the rim / seal of shower could do with some bleach as it was covered with mould.

I left dirty clothing after checkout. My children for got one of their bags. It was my fault for not checking everything but upon realizing I called the hotel and informed them that I would return a few days later to pick them up. I had booked a cruise out of Barcelona and it was too late to go back the same day.the bag was never returned to me

Overnight stay at the train station hotel - arrived late at night. Originally delighted that there was faster digital check in service to expedite the check in process; we did the digital check in prior to arrival - it still took 20 minutes despite not having anyone else at the check in except for us; especially having arrived late at 11pm with kids.
