ibis Styles Barcelona City Bogatell

We have a baby and they gave us very small room and it was not comfortable. There was no rubbish bin and lots of accessories have been missing. The last day we woke up with a very bad smell in the room, there is a drain problem.

From arrival the staff could not have been more friendly, helpful or professional. Our room was perfect for our little family of 3, basic but all we needed. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise and after a month of travel we were thrilled that the in house pizza menu was of very high quality. Delicious. Great rooftop pool, albeit tiny, and walking distance to a bustling restaurant strip, the beach and 80m from the metro. Highly recommend this property to anyone unless you require all the bells and whistles.

Positives: Good hotel for families. Staff very kind and professional. We had two rooms - both clean, spacious and modern. Pool area (includes bar hut and some casual seating) is a bonus after a long day sightseeing. Downstairs bar/restaurant area also nice. Alcohol and drink prices reasonable. Bogatell beach only a 15/20min walk away. Breakfast - nice Continental but limited, although enough to eat for breakfast. Negatives - no coffee or hot drinks facilities in the room. No place to hang towels (no door hooks etc). Sofa bed extremely uncomfortable- you could feel the springs poking through. Asked for an extra duvet to soften this but told they did not have any. Parking - 20euros per night! Despite being an ibis owned carpark there is no discount for guests. However, it is a secure underground carpark. Area - Not a great area and not the side of Barcelona you really want to stay in. Run down and appears to be a bit ‘dodgy’. Bogatell metro - not open for a few months so transport was either an Uber or other tube which was a ten min walk via the dodgy bits and meant getting two metros to get somewhere which would have been ten mins max via Bogatell station. My advice - get a car if Bogatell metro is closed. We got one for the last three days of our stay and it was worth it especially in 34 degree heat. Area - I’ve stayed in El Born/Gothic Quarter previously and would stick to those areas if I were to visit BCN again.

This property was great for is with kids- beautiful rooftop pool, and breakfast was included and walkable to sites. Also seemed to attract a lot of digital nomads. Only downside was that the rooms were very small. We had the family connecting room which was good but the room/bath/connecting doors were colliding with each other.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! It was in a great location, really close to a metro stop. It was very family friendly and the kids loved all the games and football tables available! The food was excellent, service was wonderful and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. Absolutely no complaints at all! We would definitely stay they’re again!

Clean and fresh hotel that met our expectations. Nice and friendly staff. The breakfast was good, especially the fresh fruit. The coffee was good too, and there was also warm freshly baked bread. Our family appreciated the non smoking rule very much and would like to stress the importance of enforcing that rule, even in the rooftop pool area.
