This is a very nice hotel with a beautiful landscape and friendly and helpful staff. This is with one major exception - the morning breakfast crew! This was a sharp contrast with the rest of our experience with the people at the hotel and Menorca. To begin with for the price of stay you pay the breakfast could be a lot better, but that aside the 2 very unfriendly (almost angry) staff seating you and replenishing is a very bad way to start your day on this otherwise beautiful island. We had a small child who was not sleeping well, so we'd often show up towards the end of the breakfast time (8-10 am only) and we would get such angry looks from Sebastian and the other woman for showing up at the end. They would go out of their way to show disrespect, quickly clean around us, and pretty much force us out. We would eventually just take some food to the room to avoid interacting with them It was just unnecessary and ruins your morning. We reported this to the front office and they apologized and did say they have had other remarks about them. So i'm really confused why they still work there. its such a dark spot on an otherwise nice hotel experience.

We stayed at Binigaus Vell during our honeymoon for 4 nights in August 2018. This farm resort was everything we expected, from being in a rural location, to the beautiful salt-water pool, and nicely outfitted rooms.
Pros:
- Extremely friendly staff (Especially Anna!), who are ready to help you at any point during your stay
- Good restaurant - breakfast is great, though busy and in a small space, so it does get really crowded. We had supper on our first night there and it was great.
- Beautiful pool and grounds
- Plenty of space for parking
- Offering of toiletries in the bathrooms
Cons:
- We had missed the fine print and thought there would be no children at this resort (as it's understood to be a "quiet" resort), so were a bit disappointed to be surrounded by children on our honeymoon, especially around the pool area
- Our room was in the original house, on the ground floor and offered no sound barrier to the rooms above us, so it was very loud. We could hear every toilet flush and chairs moving across the floors, waking us up every morning. The bathroom was also nothing to rave about.
- While we didn't mind, the beach was a 3km hilly walk from the resort, so do consider this if it's not something you're up for.

The hotel location is beautiful and dinner on the terrace while watching the sunset was idyllic. Our room, set away from the energy and noise of boisterous older children, was a cool oasis of tranquillity. The food was very good and the service in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was excellent.
The surrounding area is great for walking with spectacular vistas at every turn. The stroll down to the caves and the beach at Binigaus is a must.
However the proverbial battle of the sunbeds, or in this case the umbrellas, was ever present; put simply there weren't enough. The result being that the courteous, considerate and elderly were left burning in the sun. This was exacerbated by the reluctance of the staff to address the issue. For a hotel where the mantra is peace and relaxation there are not enough staff to encourage appropriate behaviour from inconsiderate guests.
Would we go back? Most definitely but perhaps at a more suitable time of the year!

The sunset from the terrace/restaurant was spectacular! Also, the breakfast on the same terrace was delightful and the breakfast selection was refreshingly mixed (both typical Spanish food and traditional American). All the personnel were incredibly helpful and friendly. A great place for both families and couples!

Just wonderful, we wanted somewhere to retreat to after a week with grandchildren in Santo Tomas and wow did we find a gem. The location, buildings, rooms, service and especially the food, dinner is a real treat, were just brilliant. Plus, it's the best swimming pool I've ever been in. We will certainly recommend to our friends to go, it's worth a weekend break to Menorca just to stay in this hotel.

Delightful rural mansion, beautiful gardens, restaurant and pool, and brilliant staff. The baby tortoises were the stars of the show!
