Holland House Beach Hotel

Only bad review I've ever done. Pleasant hotel. Rooms are small but kept very clean. Like the whole Caribbean, everything runs on island time but the bar staff take it to another level of 'when they can be bothered if at all'. First 3 days we spent between 3 and 4 hundred US$ but my wife was pulled aside because our children, who were staying in a next door hotel used HH sunbeds. Beds that we were not using as we were in the hotel entertaining another guest of the hotel that we had arranged to meet. Day trippers get 2 beds and a couple of beers for $25 a day. That being the case my wife said fine but we wont spend another penny and tell the manager we're not happy about waiting 15/20 minutes sat 5 yds from the bar watching bar staff chat to each other and as often as not forgetting the order or being asked to come aside and explain ourselves as if we were going to run off without paying in front of our friend. The manager deigned to pop in on Sunday morning even though he doesn't normally work on a Sunday and immediately said he had been told of the use of sunbeds etc'. At which point we would liked to have offered to pay our bill and leave but the hotel where our kids and grandkids were staying was full. Never spent another penny but had to put up with having the hotel beachbar/sunbed man constantly screaming Yabba Dabba Doo. Real pity because it has the possibility of being first rate but as the competition is so limited they don't give a toss, just take the money.

Beautiful location providing amazing views of the harbour and cruise ships. The staff was great. Especially the beach and lounge area staff! Treated you like family. We would definitely go back there

Diamond in the rough. Nice property, comfortable beds and close to ferries BUT are is sketchy, beaches were not clean, lots of people trying to sell you things, so not relaxing and did not feel safe in the area. The area is really run down and sad to see, this was the ONLY nice looking hotel option I saw in the area. If I had children, I would not feel comfortable for them going out alone, I didn't even feel comfortable going out without my husband and we are from Brooklyn and New York City.

Holland House maintains its excellent standard although we found the restaurant offerings less tantalizing than before and the wine selection not as reflective of the French opportunities on the island. But Sebastien the Fans B manager was very accommodating to set up a special beach dinner for our honeymoon couple. Anthony was an outstanding server, so very pleasantly enthusiastic and Keisha was a strong contributor every morning. The beach experience was very good. In fact we came back from Orient to swim and sun. The bar area is wonderful and the bartenders attentive. Housekeeping never let us down and the security team watched out for me as a ran a night time an errand down the street. No one can beat the location, always a breeze on the main floor and this time, Julius added an extra family touch to support the welcome opening of Le Dutch, a finer wine and food shop! I recommend HH to all visiting the island. It is so convenient - easy access to boat tours and of course the shopping from Ballerina all the way to Harry at Laurent! With Joe's and Pacific Ave thrown in too!

Very neat property! Staff were helpful for the most part… they helped to book taxis for tours and flight ✈️. Told us what to expect from the tours AND it was absolutely amazing to say the least. The property is GORGEOUS!!!! You step out almost RIGHT ON the beach. The sand is white, the waters r clear and blue, I kept my balcony door open to listen to the waves 🌊 crashing at night!! Very relaxing 😎! Not to forget their Ocean Lounge thats open to staff like a private restaurant just waiting on your arrival 😊!!! Definitely worth staying!!! The only reason I didn’t give it a perfect score was because one staff lady was just kinda nonfriendly at first and came off rude a little to my husband and me when getting there. It may be her personality but she did ended up helping us as well if you can overlook that little dicey tidbit. Overall, I would visit here again and would definitely recommend to family and friends! Holland House Beach Hotel 🏨 is amazing and is one worth staying at.
