The District Boracay

Love my stay with the District. Conveniently located between station 1 and 2 which means you get the best of both world in terms of less noise/traffic and the accessibility of all the nearby restaurants, club and bars. D’mall, Jerry’s Grill and Starbucks is just around the corner. Epic and Summer Place nightclub is also nearby. The District has an impressive breakfast buffet local favorites like fried garlic rice, fried bangus, Vigan longganisa, lugaw, pancit, lomi soups to traditional western dish cereals, bacon/eggs, fried chicken and pasta. This changes daily. Top notch! The rooms are huge and elegant. Bed and pillows are comfy. Super clean! Staff are courteous and attentive to your needs. The only issues I got was I made 2 reservations - one from their website and another in Expedia. I learned the hard way that booking other than their website will mean that you have to purchase the transportation separately. So I got charge extra 2,500 pesos or $44 dollars. Then, again on my checkout and need to use their van and speedboat to Caticlan airport I got charge another “extra” 1,000 pesos or $18.50 because I’m going solo and they need a minimum of two persons per trip. I don’t mind paying for the convenience of arranged transportation but at least it should be all mentioned during booking so there’s no surprises about all these extra expenses. Book on their website! Otherwise, the place is great! Love it and will recommend to friends and families.

The District is a good choice for a 4-star hotel in Boracay. Location is fantastic. The rooms themselves are a little worn around the edges and a touch to small but having a balcony is nice. Service at the hotel was great. The Spa was outstanding, one of the best massages I've ever had. The pool is nice, gets a lot of sun in the morning but shaded in the afternoon. Plenty of beach loungers, umbrellas and towels. Plus lots of pool and beach toys for kids to use. The Italian restaurant on site is great, much better than the food at the Star Lounge which was a bit average.

I did some extensive research before choosing The District, and I was not let down. Even though more expensive than many other hotels on White Beach, I think the service was impeccable! Very friendly staff (who loved our kids) and did everything with a smile. Breakfast was included and had pretty much everything - both western and asian, incl. á la carte making of pancakes, omelettes etc. Great sunbeds both by the pool and private by the beach. Do note that there are construction works being done on both sides of the property - not disturbing at all and with the great benefit of having a greater part of the beach for yourself! We opted for the private transport from Kalibo, which worked out great - no carrying of our own luggage, no buying of tickets for the ferry etc. Private boat to Boracay with no waiting time. I can highly recommend the Caruso restaurant by the hotel - they even serve on the beach. Location is great, as been said by previous reviewers! Highly recommended if you want piece and quite, but still be able to take part of the nightlife on your own terms.
