Shangri-La The Fort, Manila

My family and I loved the Shangri-La, and we would highly recommend The Fort for its convenient location to places of interests, shopping, and amazing dining experiences.

Best hotel experience of my life. We had a suite, and were treated like royalties. Even hotel arts in Barcelona looks like a child compared to this experience.

We had an amazing time in Shangri-La BGC, the staffs are very attentive with the guests, we enjoy the pool and the breakfast have plenty of choices. It was a great weekend with the family.

Our experience as a family from my initial correspondence with hotel staff over phone to arrange airport shuttle up to our departure (also used airport shuttle) was smooth and pleasant. All the staff we ran into, interacted with were very courteous, helpful and warm. We booked the Deluxe Room - King Size bed, High Street View. The room was spacious for the extra bed for 3rd person. Well appointed interiors. Only missing feature in bathroom is bidet. We used the laundry services but be prepared to pay premium as prices are listed per type of clothing and per piece. Breakfast buffet selection is varied and generous. Concierge assistance is excellent. The location is very convenient to food, shops and green space in BGC area. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone willing to pay a little more for quality experience.

Shangri-la is not the same as it used to be. They charge you for everything. I had entered 2 adults and 2 kids (both under 17) when I booked on Hotels.com. After we checked in, I received a call from the front desk saying that they will be charging us for an extra "adult " since my oldest is over 12 y.o. So we got charged an extra $25 each night. I have never heard of this, and Hotels.com never informed us of this. Also, they were very strict about the dresscode for breakfast. I was turned away for wearing my "pajamas" (shirt and shorts) because it wasn't considered "smart-casual." The room had a weird smell, like urine. The carpet was dirty and had stains. The shower door did not close completely, so water always leaked out. We did like the location in BGC, it was walking distance to many restaurants and stores. We have stayed in all the Shangri-la hotels in the Philippines, but will definitely try other hotels in the future.

We had a great family staycation here. We enjoyed the food and the pool. The service is really what makes this hotel amazing. If there is a promotion, i recommend staying here.

Glass-encased shower are an awful idea especially if you’re traveling with kids
