Hotel Clemens Amsterdam

The staff were so exceptionally welcoming, they really made you feel like you were part of the family, they carried our bags up amd down the stairs when we came and when we left and yes there were alot of stairs but that was the only downside, the room was clean and the central location was perfect, would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat.

I came on a solo trip after spending 2 nights in a hostel - they let me check in early and the room was so clean! The staff was so friendly and the other people staying were so quiet. I stayed in the single bed and it was SMALL! Coming from someone in NYC, it was small! But it was everything I needed, I couldn’t find something to complain about. Would recommend this to a friend or family member :) also location was great! Lots of great bars, restaurants, Anne Frank house is a block away. You can sit on the balcony for breakfast which is nice and cozy!

A small and wonderful hotel in terms of a homely family atmosphere, with exceptional and good service. The service providers at the hotel do everything to make your stay pleasant. There are three main problems in the hotel: 1. The size of most of the rooms is extremely small. Because of the tiny size, there are no tables or chairs in the rooms at all. 2. The hotel does not have an elevator. In order to get to the rooms, a very difficult climb is required on very narrow and steep stairs. It is difficult to get to the rooms with luggage, very difficult. 3. The storage closet in the rooms is extremely small and very narrow (because of the size of the room). But, the wonderful attitude and generosity and consideration of the service providers covers it.

The thirty-nine step staircase took me aback. (they carried up my luggage) What a home away from home I found at the landing. Staff, family and others, surpassed any small, or big-name hotel I've ever booked. Giving this hotel my trophy.

The location was great, an easy walk to tram stops, Palace, Dam Square and even Central Station. Most points of interest were easy to access by foot or tram. After a day out and about, we felt like we were going home to family. That’s how the staff made us feel. It was incredible, we had never felt like that in a hotel before. Breakfast in the morning and tea on the balcony at night were magical. There are a lot of narrow stairs, first to the reception area then more to your room, but the staff is happy to carry your bags up and down. Hotel Clemens was a high point in our Amsterdam experience.
