The Kaab Coba hotel is lovely and a good value. We stayed in a family room which had been re-modeled with very nice details such as grab bars in the bathroom, nice recessed lighting niches and good firm beds. The ac unit was a bit too powerful for the size of the room causing it to be difficult to regulate the temp and humidity. The pool is very nice and the general ambiance is very relaxing and elegant. The dinner menu at the restaurant is very limited but there are plenty of places to eat in the immediate area. The fruit salad at breakfast is great. The very short distance to the Coba archeological site is wonderful and the town appears to be building a nice Corniche type boardwalk along the lake. I would definitely revisit this hotel.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. I could’ve stayed here all week. The service, the atmosphere, the room, the courtyard, the restaurant, everything is gorgeous. I would like to come back and spend more time here. I had a great conversation with amazing staff, it is so safe and tranquil. It was also an amazing deal! It is perfect if you are alone or with kids. The rooms are gorgeous and so unique. They are so clean and comfortable. I give this hotel and the staff a five star and extra credit!

This is a really beautiful place. The pool is gorgeous and clean and the plants around it are beautiful, and there's always at least some parts sunny and some parts shady. There's a ledge/bench around one wall of the pool that tiny kids could walk on if you have littles. The place seems to be like a convent, with little alcoves where you'd expect a statute of the Virgin Mary or a bowl of holy water. It's on a beautiful lake that the sun sets on and water birds hunt fish. When we went in January, it was pretty deserted. The staff are very nice, tolerant of our poor Spanish. The restaurant seemed open very rarely; it wasn't very clear when or where it was, but there are plenty of other places to eat that are delicious nearby. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the ruins. (We got a guide (Otto), who was great, but pricey, $1600.) The staff didn't have the best directions about the bus out of Coba, but the restaurant with the Coba sign and chilli peppers and swing out front did have good information. The bus out of Coba picks you up in front of that restaurant (not the side of the road that the hotel is on). First it goes down the other side of the street; wave to the driver then so he sees you. Then it goes down to the ruins and goes back up the other side, the side of the restaurant. Wave to the bus driver again so he stops. The buses are labeled either Playa del Carmen or Merida or Valladolid (the Merida one stops at Valladolid, cost ~60 pesos pp to Merida).
