Best Western Plus Gran Hotel Morelia

Great location. Consistent problems with the 2 very small elevators and room key cards only worked half the time and required going to front desk to reprogram. Very inconvenient. Also there were a couple of hundred kids staying for a soccer tournament. They were running and screaming up and down the halls until 11 PM. Lastly, on our last night there, we found at least 10 police on our hall and in various rooms searching. Very unnerving. Pool and restaurant very nice. Staff friendly.

The staff at the restaurant, specifically a young lady that didn’t want to help us Saturday evening on April 1st, 2023 around 9:30/10pm. She was very rude and didn’t want to assist us with the discount cards for the restaurant even though it came with our stay at the hotel. Staff was not welcoming and just in general it felt like they didn’t want to help. But that Saturday was honestly very upsetting because the young lady was rude and unprofessional. After I asked to speak to the restaurant captain/manager, she annoyingly helped us but still had a bad attitude towards ny family and I. We were honestly trying to be patient with her but she was rude. After we realized she just didn’t want to help because she was being lazy and didn’t want to start on her computer to create the discount cards for the restaurant.

The only issue I had was that the elevator almost smashed my baby. I had to put my arm in so it wouldn’t smashed her. The sensor never senses anything and it just keep smashing my arm will I took my baby out. The alarms did not work or the button to open the doors. I told them at the front desk and didn’t seem to care. The security of the hotel said that they had the video.

Me and my family stayed here for a single night and booked two rooms in August 2022. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the location is unbeatable and amenities are amazing. Loved the comfort of each room with very nice subtle touches of luxury. Modernizing some of the facilities would be a big plus but, definitely, not a must as the building is kept at a very high maintenance level. What I definitely recommend improving is the parking lot: there is no enough lighting nor clearly defined and marked spaces for cars. It's more like a free-for-all pathway in desperate need of order. Other than this, I would strongly suggest staying here.

The property was better than expected. The staff was excellent and attentive. The food was delicious. We ate there for breakfast and they hand make tortillas for quesadillas which were amazing. The girls in the evening who made the pizzas did an great job. Not sure what group was there the same weekend but our floor was full of young kids that were running down the hall and making noise late in the night. That's not the hotels fault though. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend to anyone visiting Morelia.

When I checked in they put us on the third floor and the room wasn’t even cleaned from the previous guest. We went back down to let them know and they put us in a room on the 1st floor, the room was terrible, the AC didn’t work and there was only two big towels. No hand towels or smaller towels. There were also no things to make coffee. The next day they accommodated us back into the third floor with a better room and more towels. But the next two days our keys wouldn’t work at night so we’d had to get them reactivated. The buffet is good but expensive. The pool was nice but I was hoping to use the hot tub and there was none, only a kid pool. The staff was ok. They had events every night but Saturday night they had live music until 1 am. I also ordered room service at 11:20 and my food got there almost at 1 am. They had told me it was going to be a 25 min wait, the room service incident was Friday.
