Rooms are huge. Great for families. Central and close to the marina and restaurants. Downside is the food and drinks are very expensive

I see a lot of 4.5/5.0 star ratings for this hotel and I can’t agree. The property is nice, a bit dated, and on the positive side the rooms are big and clean, our view was “mostly” excellent, and the service, although sometimes a bit slow, was always cheerful and excellent. The pools are quite good as well, and it was never a problem finding chairs and an umbrella on either pool or the beach. I have to give this property a three star rating. Almost hotels properties will extend all the way to the sand. Even with the restaurants, there is an alleyway and a set of ramshackle other businesses that actually not only block the lower part of your view, but are noisy and annoying from about 9 AM till midnight. Much more like a spring break type experience which is definitely not what we were looking for. I definitely don’t need to hear Lady Gaga at 140 dB at nine in the morning while I’m drinking my coffee on the admittedly excellent balcony of my room. And the beautiful view of , the bay and the mountain cliffs, are ruined by those crappy buildings which block the lower 1/3 of what you’re looking at. Logistically we chose the Dorado to be close to two other families we were traveling with. I definitely would never stay there again.

I liked the two pools... one for those more active, volleyball, basketball, shallow area for kids and then pool with the bar at one end for more leisure swimming and lounging. The activities through out the day were fun as well! I loved being able to walk down to the beach and have a designated area to be on the beach.

The staff could not be better or nicer. The rooms and property are super clean! The food is very reasonable and all is delicious! The pool is a very nice size, and relatively clean considering the amount of adults and kids, but it is outdated. Right outside the property is the beach and is very convenient. The restricted area for the guests are perfect! However, there are so many people partying, playing loud music, and is too congested for me. Overall, a great resort! Thank you for having us.

The property itself is very nice the room was so nice had a kitchen and little living area. The room was nice with a hot tub. The pool area was very nice we enjoyed the kid pool area. The only thing was the bed sheets they made my skin itch. & after the second day the ac had a weird smell. Besides that it was a great stay.

The suite was gorgeous and the extra clean. My husband, toddler and I are vegan and we had great options available for us. We did compromise to consume butter. For the entirety of the trip, the staff was extremely helpful and kind. We loved the various pools where they are large enough where you can choose between adult swim up bar or shallow area for kids on opposite end. My daughter loved the playground. We think all could enjoy the resort and recommend it to all! We will definitely return.

We have been staying at Casa Dorada for years. We had not visited the hotel since 2020 and unfortunately it’s changed. While the service is still great and the staff is very friendly, the hotel lost some special touches. There is no longer the amazing views due to the Mango deck building a hideous rooftop that blocks the view is the arches. I realize that is not the hotels fault, but it has taken away the charm of the hotel. The kids club has permanently closed (which was great for families), the quality of food had gone down hill and the prices on food and drink has significantly increased. Most guests go offsite to eat which is unfortunate for the price of the hotel. The surrounding restaurants and hotels blast music until 2 am some nights. So if you are staying on the east side of the property (oceanfront) you will not get to enjoy your balcony in peace. The pros are rooms are large, centrally located to great restaurants and the beach is swimmable.
