Corinthia Palace Malta

Our room was large, but needed updating. We would have expected a walk in shower, not shower in bath. Our room overlooked the garden and outside space for breakfast, but in the afternoons it was used for family photo shoots, weddings etc., which meant it wasn't peaceful. Breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly and polite. There was a choice of three restaurants and a fourth, the Bahai which was never mentioned, but did exist. I think the hotel is living on its past reputation. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay.

This hotel lives up to its reputation as a first class place for a luxurious break or a business-friendly base for conferences or business in Malta. Its kind of pricey so we avoided the breakfasts (€15) which were reportedly fantastic. But a local restaurant (Melita) provides fab breakfasts at half the price. The staff are simply superb. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff atmosphere is also super - folks seem to get a along well and the positive team culture shows. The local Park (St Anton's) is restful and delightful. For anyone seeking peace or for any botanists, its a dream. Just 2 minutes walk. Go through the Park to get to the Kitchen Gardens - a disability-friendly, working mini-gardens with small zoo. Great for children and adults. To get there you go through the president's office and a small chapel - also worth a visit. Although expensive, I thoroughly recommend this hotel.
