Comfort Hotel Shin-Osaka

When you stay in a budget hotel you have to be realistic about what you get for what you pay. I have stayed at numerous cheap business hotels around Japan (especially APA) and I would choose the Comfort again. This particular property is very new at time of my stay, and every room is non-smoking with good wifi, small refrigerator and USB sockets. Even a USB charger cable. The bed was comfortable and reasonable floorspace (again more than APA). Breakfast was basic but did have sausage, egg and bakery for the Europeans, who seemed to make up a relatively large proportion of guests. On the downside, one reason it is cheap is the location immediately beside ShinOsaka station railtracks. I had a regular economy room and in advance requested a room at the front side but it seems that only large rooms (twin and family size) are on that side. However they did put me up on the 13th floor so not so bad. The window opens so you can get fresh air but the trains are quiet only 1am to about 5:30 so assume you'll have to get up and close it in the morning. Convenient short walk from the station, leave by central exit ground floor under the taxis.

I loved my stay at Comfort Hotel! I traveled with my family and during the stay enjoyed meeting with my old friends at the hotel's library cafe area. After staying multiple nights, I am sure that I made the right choice choosing this hotel. The hotel is not too fancy (reasonably priced!), but relatively new and very clean. The staff were friendly. The location is great, a 5-minute walk from Shin-Osaka station (Shinkansen, JR, Subway, and Airport Bus). The breakfast with hot food was amazing. If you walk a couple of blocks, there are a few convenience (two Daily stores and one 7-eleven) stores and restaurants. My family loved eating at Nakau (chain), so cheap and fast! Also, there's a good Italian Bar Restaurants. Shin-Osaka restaurants are not as crowded as those in Umeda (Osaka). Only negative is the dryers. It takes forever to dry clothes. But anyway, overall, this is a great hotel. I will return!

Excellent service. Room was a bit squishy with an adult and child in together. Had to request an extra pillow as it wasn’t automatically provided. Breakfast a great inclusion. Close to station.
