Apa Hotel Shin-Osaka Ekimae

Excelent business hotel, there are almost no restaurants nearby, but it is 2 min walking station. Rooms are very small, but excelent conditions, amenities and clean. It would be also “ok” for families with kids, thought not really fun for them.

Shin-Osaka is dirty and rundown. If you absolutely need to be at a Shinkansen station, fine, handy, but not great for a stay with family. The service was awful - I couldn’t borrow scissors unless I did the cutting at the front desk and they wouldn’t swap out feather bedding for an allergy (all other hotels I’ve stayed at in Japan have been nice about giving me blankets instead). So I took antihistamines but my eyes were red and puffy anyhow - I was woken up every morning by cleaning staff jabbering in the hall outside my door, and kept up at night by traffic noise and noise through the walls. Kinda petty, but the wallpaper is seizure-inducing: 3 different types in a tiny room, one crooked. The spa bath was amazing though!! Igaraki pottery little round bathtubs and a huge rotenburo/outdoor tub. I went late at night and early in the morning when I couldn’t sleep, lol.
