Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori

The hotel premises are exquisite and very stylish. Our lake view room is very clean and look out to beautiful lake. However, during checkout we we charged extra for our daughter meal. It came as a surprised since when we book we clearly booked for one room for 2 adults and one child for 15 years old. The check out staff insisted that due to our daughter being 15 we needed to settle to extra fee. I am not sure whether this is how Expedia set up or hotel policy but it scores lower than it should be.

Nice hot spring resort for family vacation! No complaints for us traveling all the way from the US. Take note that the hotel provides shuttle bus transfer from the train station

Hotel was clean. All amenities were amazing stayed with 3 children loved the outside bath in the room. Highly recommended

Our stay was short but absolutely amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel. We had the Japanese-Western room with private bath and it was very comfortable for our family. The dinner and breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations and was quite delicious. The hotel provided us with yukatas to wear and we could enjoy the feel of a traditional ryokan but with modern amenities available. The public bath was also wonderful. Staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The scheduled free shuttle buses to the train station that was provided made it very convenient for us. We loved soaking our feet while taking in the beautiful view from the terrace, and felt very at peace and relaxed during our stay. Would highly recommend and cannot wait to be back again for a longer stay next time!

This is our second time coming to Hanaoori. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The amenities are clean and well maintained. The stay is very relaxing. Thank you! Very kid friendly.

What a gorgeous breath of fresh air! We spent a night here between Tokyo and Kyoto, and I'm so glad we did. The onsen was super relaxing. It was fun to get to the hotel.. just a short walk across the street from that last cable car, right before you get on the boat. We got the lakeview room, and we had such a gorgeous view of the lake and the pirate ships coming and going. Beautiful birds were swooping around in the evening. The dinner wasn't my favorite as a vegetarian. This is hard in Japan. But the breakfast was outstanding. Actually the dinner was probably the most veggie friendly that we had, so for Japan it is pretty good, and it was very good for children. The staff was awesome. Super warm and inviting when you are weary from your trip. My only complain was my bed was on wheels and it moved around too much. My only regret is we didn't stay two nights, and we absolutely will come again, any time we are in Hakone!
