Eurostars Residenza Cannaregio Hotel

Hot like an actual oven even with windows open. Poorest and most depressing lighting ever in the rooom. Bathroom is falling apart, furniture on its last leg, fridge suspiciously warm and had to toss our snacks. Cannot check in early by any minutes. Tried to switch our room to one half the price of what we paid. Reason they switched us because “they thought our kids were younger”, like it’s ok then to bait and switch if within a certain age bracket. Venice was my favorite stop on our tour of Italy; Eurostars was the worst hotel.

We came with kids and the double room with the loft was perfect. It was a few minutes walk from lots of shops and dining options. The staff was very helpful and had great recommendations. We loved this hotel and would stay there again.

We were a family of 5. The location of the property was quite a distance from the main restaurants and had limited options. The room was very dark and had a strange layout. If they added a few lamps, that might help. The shower was awful, scalding hot water that burned us and when we asked the front desk, they were not helpful at all. We had to Jean ourselves using the sink which didn't have much water pressure. The breakfast was not good at all, very disappointing given the lobby looked great but the rooms were in bad shape. The staff was not helpful and we felt misled when they told us the price of the water taxi was 19 euros total. We asked him again and he said that was for all of us. It turned out to be 70 euros. We would not recommend this hotel at all.

We really loved our hotel it was updated nicely and the breakfast was really good. We were there in July so it was extremely hot. Our room was the two story one which we really liked the set up with our teen kids. But because of the two stories and open space the air conditioning barely felt like it was working. Also it is a fair walk from the main square so in the heat you feel like a sweaty mess and get back to a very warm room. There is a grocery store around the corner called Conad and was really affordable. Our mini fridge was lukewarm and the shower had issues draining. If it was not so hot am sure our stay would have been more comfortable. Very quiet and calm local area which was nice.

The best thing going for the hotel is its location. You can walk about 8 - 10 minutes and be at the center of endless shopping, eating choices and more. It's no fun lugging baggage from the water bus over two bridges though.Unless you take a water taxi up to the door of the hotel (for 110 Euro), that's what you'll have to do. We traveled with small children, and we would have appreciated a restaurant on the premises. They do offer breakfast in the morning. I was not impressed with the breakfast, but many folks seemed to be so. They don't have an elevator, so you'll have to pull your luggage up the stairs. The staff will offer to help with this though. The pictures on the website make the rooms look a lot bigger than what they really are. However, it was big enough. We are American and the movies shown were mostly in Italian. With this, stay out as long as you can because when you get back to the hotel, there's nothing to do. This may not be a bad thing because it forces you to stay out and enjoy the beautiful town. If you travel with small kids, and they get tired of walking around, bring something for them to do in the hotel.
