The hotel is a converted convent is beautifully finished and maintained but lacks some atmosphere - eg the bar is in the same large room as reception and very brightly lit. But this is not a big quibble. We were in a family room with one teenager, and it was very spacious and well appointed, with a second area with comfortable fold out bed. The staff are attentive and helpful and the hotel is well located and walkable to major attractions, without being in the thick of it - a good thing in Florence, which can be very crowded. Recommended!

Hotel Horto Convento was great. The staff was very helpful, especially with transportation arrangements and restaurant recommendations. The breakfast had many choices and the waitstaff was attentive and quick. Our room was spacious (we had the family room) and the bathroom was nicely appointed with toiletries, although the hairdryer could have been of better quality, it was weak. I liked the fact that the hotel is a little bit outside the main tourist area.
