Algila' Ortigia Charme Hotel

Lovely property - - the adjoining rooms/suite were perfect for our family. Terrific service and convenient location.

Located in the beautiful Ortigia area of Syracusa, this hotel exudes old-world charm. Our junior suite has two balconies that look like they came out of a Romeo-Juliet story. Marcello at front desk was very helpful assisting us with dinner reservations.

Charged me full price for two family suites for a night I didn’t stay, and said that’s their policy. Wouldn’t even consider discounting it even though they probably rented it. (A double dip). Even though I had no way of getting there due to the closing of the airport/airline strike. Otherwise a nice hotel, breakfast and staff.

We spent two nights here with our family (three separate rooms) and everyone loved this hotel for its comfort, spaciousness, and location. Rooms are beautifully appointed with lots of amenities and front desk and breakfast staff service is terrific. Beds were very comfortable. Also, we were in the building separate from the main desk and really loved its own sitting/reading room as well as the charm of the building. The breakfast is amazing -- with not only a large traditional buffet set of options, but also to made options like eggs etc. And location -- who could ask for anything better? You can walk around Ortigia easily as well as over to the mainland of Siracusa. Views of the water are just outside the front door. Tip: Save yourself the aggravation of hunting for a parking spot and reserve valet parking when you book. Yes, it is expensive (the most of our whole trip), but it is well worth it in terms of peace of mind. Use your feet and explore!
