Hotel Metropole Suisse

We very much enjiyed our stay in Lake Como. The location of the hotel made it easier and we had a fantastic room on the top level which provided some views of the lake. As what is seemingly the same with our stays in Italian hotels the floor is wood veneer and there are no teas/coffee making facilities in rooms which would have been great. Would recommned that due to limited parking that you ring ahead and confirm that you can park (at a cost of 16 eauro per night) although there appeared to be some parking around the hotel but in busier times parking could be a problem. The restuarent was fantastic with great service and the breakfast was terrific with attentive staff in what is a family run business since the hotel was built around 120 years ago. The rooms are modern and shower was hot. A nenjoyable stay with tourism infiration directly next door although the information provided there was average due to language barriers. A quick 1 hour train trip into Milan for some shopping although beware of pick pockets whom we luckily repelled on the undeground railway in Milan. Overall a great stay and would recommend the hotel.
