Hotel Diplomatic

We stayed for 9 nights. The location of the hotel was great for access to Vatican City although a bit of a walk to other places with the children. The room itself was spacious enough with good plumbing and it was clean. An iron and ironing board would have made it perfect. The hotel employees are very polite and responsive. There are a nice selection of places to eat within 20 meters. Would definitely stay again.

We were impressed by the service and friendliness at this hotel. We were a family travelling as a large group (18 of us) and we were warmly received. The hotel is on the smaller side, but was very clean, well air conditioned, great showers, reasonable room size for Rome. The breakfast was not bad. Excellent restaurant and bar nearby. Well located and easy walking distance to major attractions and shopping. Although it would technically be a 3 or 4 star hotel (it is not luxurious) I give the 5 stars for the exceptional service. I am so happy that I booked hotel Diplomatic through Expedia! The hotel made a reservation for private taxi to pick us up from airport and I am thankful that I did it because the wait line to get from the airport to get the taxi was ridiculous. The check in was easy and quick. The hotel is in best location close to everything, bus station is right in front of the hotel. Rooms are nice, cleaned every day, there is enough towels and they change them every day. When we arrived our bad’s were put together but you can easily separate them. WiFi is good, breakfast is ok, basic but good Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I need to mention receptionist GIANLUCA. He was super nice, very helpful and always happy to help. Thanks to his recommendation and advises we explored the Rome in fullness. He was very patient and detailed. Will definitely come back to Hotel Diplomatic and will recommend it to all my family and friends

We love this hotel! Super close to everything! Staff were always so nice, they are like family ! Rooms are clean and roomy. Breakfast was great! Very yummy with a lot of options! Elevator was always a plus since I can’t walk much. If I ever go back to Rome I’ll love to stay there again!!

We chose the Hotel Diplomatic for our Rome Vacation due to its proximity to Vatican City. Of our 4 days, 2 were starting at the Vatican (Sunday Mass and Monday at the Vatican Museum), and the location made it very easy for us to get to St. Peter's and the Museum quickly with a 10 min walk. The location was also great for our first day as we only had a short walk to a stop on the Ciao Roma on/off tour bus to get a feel for the city as our first item of business. The room was nice. The King bed was actually two twins, but was very comfortable for both my wife and I. We were also lucky to be on the floor that had a "balcony" (in quotes because it was just big enough to stand on) and provided a pleasant view of the street below and the connecting bridge over the Tiber. The only negative was the lack of outlets near the bed. I have sleep apnea and had to borrow the one extension cord in the hotel every night to plug in my CPAP machine. The staff at the hotel was very good at remembering this after some confusion about it the first night. Also, the hotel is half a block from Vito's Roma restaurant that is highly rated and excellent. We walked a lot on our trip (over 20 miles in the 4 days) and were comforted each night as we returned to the Diplomatic. It is a very nice hotel and one we would certainly recommend to any (non-handicapped) family or friends. I say non-handicapped because the elevator is very small and only accessible after climbing three steps.

Big fluffy towels, nice shower room was very clean, noisy, loud traffic noise and loud guest, children screaming continuously terrible wifi

old style but clean.The airconditioning is not that pleasing.Coming from AZ we want it cold but unfortunately not.The staff esp Luca ,very very helpful.He provided and help us with directions truly appreciated.The hotel is located in city center.Very accesible and walking distance.Breakfast is ok to start the day.Will recommend this hotel to family and friends
